Blast! We are having some difficulties with online card payments today; the user is given a 'merchant error' when trying to pay by card through this site. Therefore card payments have been temporarily disabled.

Rest assured that this is only a minor glitch in the setup of the payment system nothing at all bad.

The reason: cards are processed online via PayPal and they have taken the decision to disable the system without notifiying us beforehand!! You can however still continue to pay with a normal PayPal account if you have one.

Hopefully card payments will back up and fully functional either later today or tomorrow once we've slapped PayPal on the back of the wrist.

Oh, and of course this doesn't affect the Crowborough shop's payment system in any way; this is only an online payment issue.

Now where's that PayPal technical support number...

However this is not the end of the story for golfwise.co.uk, far from it, more and more exciting areas are being developed and will launch as the year progresses.

Browser note: As for accessing golfwise.co.uk, it has been designed with modern web standards that browsers such as Chrome, Firefox and Safari support well. Internet Explorer (versions 7 & 8) are long-in-the-tooth now and your browsing experience across the whole of the internet will be far better and smoother if you upgrade to one of the others listed. You may well be running the latest Internet Explorer 9, however, sadly this still falls short of the mark so why not try one of the others today and see the web in a new light!

If you're unsure which one to go for; Firefox (Mozilla Foundation) is the best IE alternative with all its features, Chrome (Google) is for the minimalist power-user, and Safari (Apple) bridges the gap between the two.

All Apple products have Safari by default so can rest easy!
